The advent of digital image tools has led me to a explore a variety of techniques, from basic photo retouching to redering images on 3D surfaces. Some were done purely for fun; other pieces were intended to enliven the workplace.

Both The Shroud of Turing’s Machine and The Engine Room were early experiments involving modifying neon clip art and wrapping it around 3D objects and rendering the results. (This was during the early days of 3D tools, and they took forever to render.)

Other pieces were directly related to the workplace. When there was some degree of vacilation as to whether software plugins would be called Orchestration Packs or Accelerator Packs, I offered the compromises of either Accelstration Packs or an Orchellator. And in an effort to get the JSON parsing functionality I needed added to the platform, I started the hash tag #jsonparser campaign —with the resultant celebratory image when the next release fulfilled all my needs.
